Stephon Smith earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Penn State University’s Schreyer Honors program in 2009. After graduation he worked in the solar photovoltaic industry for three years before starting his freelance consulting practice, primarily focused on financial modeling and controls for startup companies.

In 2017 Stephon began consulting for a Montana developer, handling the modeling for their entire portfolio of projects, spanning between 6 and 10 at any one time. As the years progressed Stephon earned a reputation for sophisticated financial modeling for various CRE asset classes, and he slowly shifted his focus from startups to commercial real estate.

Stephon now focuses primarily on helping developers and CRE investment firms systematize their underwriting, fundraising, and financial controls, and his clients rely on him heavily to help them close their debt and equity rounds.
